kukukus lake
would like to find out if I can land a 14' boat on Dome lake entrance with a truck or 4 wheeler to land it. Is kukukus a good walley lake? I have fished basket and other nearby lake for 18 -20 years now.Just looking to explore more out.

The landing is very steep and it would be very difficult to get a boat in or out with a 4-wheeler. If it is simply an empty boat and you are carrying everything separate then you could do it. WHen I was there this summer I looked it over good because I was thinking about putting my 16-foot lund in there. However, I decided not to. The Lund has a flat floor, swivel seats etc. Just too steep and rough for a boat like that.
Kukukus is a good walleye lake and there is a lot of good walleye fishing down in that part of the lake. I mostly fish the north end. Back in the 80's and early 90's it was really tough to get in there. But they have improved the road and I now see a lot of larger fishing boats on the north end. Back in the early 1990's we started seeing a few smallmouth bass show up and now it is a very good smallmouth lake. The lake is a very good fishing lake and one of the prettiest in the area. However it gets a fair amount of fishing pressure because of the number of rental boats on it.

arethusa/flatrock
Thanks for the info. Have you been up the road to Arethusa lake? I see on a satalite image that it looks like a landing on the south-east side of a bridge. I am going up this march for the second time ice fishing trip and thought I would explore by snowmobile over that way to check it out for my summer trips.Last year I made it over from basket to flatrock on snowmobile through the creek, but never made it up to the road to see on the west side. Would Flatrock/Arethusa be a better lake to get on and how would that be for walleye? I am not crazy about a lake with smallies in it.I had fished Melgund for years until a few years back someone planted smallies in that lake. The walleye action has went down fast.

Kukukus / Elephant lake access
Besides the steep entry at Dome lake, & flayers is there a place to land 16 - 17 foot boat with 4 wheel drive on Kukukus, it has been many years since I fished this lake as a young boy. I fish many of the area lakes several times through out the year but for what ever reason have not went back to Kukukus. Tnxs GF

All the post are true..The landing is very steep and it would be very difficult to get a boat in or out with a 4-wheeler..You can try another one if you like..

Albert
